The following is a message concerning the offer to buy the bottom pub and a meeting on the formation of a Cygnet Community Co-operative.

The Annual General Meeting of The Cygnet Association will be held on 2 September 2026 at 7 pm in the Supper Room, Cygnet Town Hall.

Minor amendments to the constitution will be proposed, to comply with ATO requirements.

All committee positions will be open and nominations are
welcome. 

The AGM will be followed by a presentation from our guest speaker, Paul Sutton, who will provide us with a lively discussion on the future of the financial value of the natural environment.

Everyone is warmly welcomed. Members are urged to attend this important event.

A special meeting followed immediately by the regular meeting of The Cygnet Association committee will be held at 5:30 pm on 1 September 2026 in the CWA Rooms, Burtons Reserve.

The Cygnet Association is pleased to announce the installation of the new Visitor Information Boards in front of the library.

We would like to thank Huon Valley Council for the grant and Cathy McAuliffe for the graphic design work. They look great - go and have a look for yourself!

Starting 1 July 2026, Council staff will be at the Cygnet Town Hall every second Wednesday from 10am–4pm.

The group exploring a community or similar purchase of the bottom pub has launched a website.

In addition to the electronic version of the Cygnet Walks booklet available on this website, a printed version is now available.

Copies are currently available at the Cygnet Living History Museum and at the Old Bank in exchange for a donation.

Drop into the Cygnet Town Hall Court Room to view all the plans for the Cygnet township safety upgrades and chat with the team.

The HVC will be onsite with enlarged plans and will be able to take you through what changes are happening and answer any of your questions.

There will be two sessions. The first is on Tuesday, 14 July 2026 between 20:00 am and 2:00 pm. The second is on Sunday, 16 August 2026 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
